The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) Proudly Participated in the Second Global Conference on Harnessing Data to Improve Anti-Corruption Measurement, Held in New York, USA
At this prestigious gathering, the Executive Chairperson, Cllr. Zoe, was among the select leaders invited by the conference organizers and partners to deliver the opening remarks. In her statement, she underscored the significant steps Liberia has taken in advancing reform measures and improving the integration of data particularly in the area of Asset Declaration, where notable progress has been made to enhance transparency and compliance.
Earlier this year, Ms. Akoto received a distinguished invitation from the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) to serve as one of the experts from 50 countries worldwide contributing to a major technical paper titled “The Effectiveness of Measuring Corruption in Anti-Corruption Agencies.” This paper was officially presented by IACA during the New York conference, highlighting Liberia’s growing role in shaping global anti-corruption standards.
Additionally, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in a side event, Ms. Akoto served on a high-level panel discussion organized by IACA. She sat alongside four senior experts from around the world, including leaders from Saudi Arabia and the Ivory Coast.
Representing Liberia and being the only woman on the panel was both humbling and empowering. The discussion focused on strengthening accountability mechanisms, improving corruption measurement, and building more resilient institutions of integrity.
This global engagement reflects LACC’s commitment to learning, sharing, and implementing best practices in the fight against corruption. The Commission remains dedicated to promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity for a better Liberia.
