On Thursday, January 22, 2026, a team from the World Bank–Liberia Office paid a courtesy visit to the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) and held discussions with the Executive Director, Mr. Bodger Scott Johnson, along with senior members of the PPCC staff.
During the visit, the team, led by the outgoing Procurement Specialist, Mr. Oyewole Oluyemi Afuye, expressed appreciation to the PPCC for its strong collaboration and reaffirmed the World Bank’s commitment to supporting the implementation of Liberia’s Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) system, an innovative public procurement enabler and a transformative milestone for public procurement in Liberia.
Mr. Afuye reflected on his professional engagements and interactions with the PPCC staff throughout his assignment in Liberia. He encouraged the PPCC leadership to remain steadfast and professionally engaged with the World Bank and other development partners to advance the country’s public procurement modernization objectives. He also used the occasion to formally introduce his successor, Mr. Akeen Bello Adeleye, who will assume duties as the new Procurement Specialist at the World Bank–Liberia Office.
In remarks, PPCC Executive Director Bodger Scott Johnson thanked the World Bank for its continued support and reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to sustained engagement with the Bank. He highlighted the significant contributions and genuine efforts made by Mr. Afuye during his tenure as Procurement Specialist in Liberia.
