MONROVIA, Sept. 15 (LINA) – Bomi County Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe has urged Liberia’s political actors to unite and maintain peaceful co-existence among the citizens of the nation.
Speaking on local radio station in Monrovia on Wednesday September 11, 2024, the Liberian politician called on national leaders to see unity as an instrument of peace and allow cohesiveness in every sector of the society regardless of their different political agenda for the betterment of Liberia.
"We want to see national cohesion, and unity amongst our leaders where you would see President Joseph N. Boakai, Sr. going to have breakfast or lunch meeting with former President Weah and former President Sirleaf. We want to see them talking about National Unity to move this country forward,” Senator Snowe maintained.
He emphasized that unity amongst national leaders will help the fight against substance abuse, citing that a practical example for the leaders of Liberia in eradicating the consumption and importation of illegal substances, is for Liberians to see former President Weah and Madam Sirleaf along with the current President, go to public forum to talk about drugs and discourage the Liberian Youth against substance abuse.
The Bomi County Senator at the same time cautioned political actors both in government and opposition to disengage from campaign mood and begin to constructively engage each other and put ideas that would move Liberia forward.
