PPCC Holds Meeting to Strengthen E-Procurement

On March 10, 2026, public procurement practitioners from ministries, agencies, commissions, and state-owned enterprises currently onboarded to the Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) System gathered at the Training Hall of the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC). The gathering provided a platform for participants to share experiences from the ongoing implementation of the e-GP System and to identify practical solutions to enhance its effectiveness.

Speaking during the session, PPCC Executive Director, Bodger Scott Johnson, challenged the participants, most of whom were procurement directors and officers, to fully utilize the e-GP System in conducting procurement activities within their respective institutions. He emphasized that the proper use of the platform is critical to achieving greater transparency, accountability, and value for money in public procurement.
Mr. Johnson also urged procurement practitioners to serve as change champions within their institutions by promoting full compliance with the provisions of the Public Procurement and Concessions Act, which mandates the use of the Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) System in Liberia.

He used the occasion to rally the support of procurement directors and the broader machinery of government to take decisive actions aimed at improving public procurement practices through the effective use of the e-Procurement platform. Mr. Johnson further underscored the importance of continuous engagement and communication among procurement stakeholders to ensure the system’s successful implementation.

The gathering also provided procurement practitioners the opportunity to share their experiences and raise concerns about challenges encountered during the implementation process. Several participants highlighted technical difficulties with the system and called for additional training to strengthen their capacity to effectively navigate the platform and ensure the timely execution of procurement activities.

Overall, the gathering served as a valuable forum for reinforcing collaboration within the procurement community while reaffirming a shared commitment to improving public procurement practices in support of efficient and effective service delivery.
