Executive Mansion, Monrovia โ President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., today commissioned a new fleet of firefighting equipment to enhance the operational readiness and capacity of the Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS).
The commissioning ceremony, held on the grounds of the Executive Mansion in Monrovia, featured the formal handover of critical assets including:
โข 6 state-of-the-art fire trucks
โข 3 water trucks
โข 2 operational Jeeps
โข 10 motorcycles for rapid response and community engagement.
These additions mark a significant step in the Administrationโs commitment to improving national safety infrastructure and reducing the risk of fire-related disasters across Liberia.
In his remarks, President Boakai emphasized that the initiative reflects his Administrationโs dedication to protecting lives, property, and the environment under the ARREST Agenda.
โThese equipment will not sit in garages. They are tools of serviceโtools that represent our duty to protect every Liberian community from the devastating impact of fire outbreaks,โ President Boakai stated,โ noting, โThis Government is determined to build a Liberia where citizens feel safe, and institutions are empowered to deliver.โ
The President encouraged the Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS) to maintain high levels of professionalism and urged the public to cooperate with fire safety initiatives.
LNFS Director G. Wasuwah Barvoul, Sr. expressed deep gratitude for the landmark investment.
โThis is a historic moment for the Fire Service. With these new trucks, water carriers, jeeps, and motorcycles, we can now respond faster, reach remote areas, and save more lives. For too long, weโve worked with limited resources. Todayโs commissioning is not just about vehiclesโit is about restoring confidence in our ability to protect this nation,โ said Col. Barvoul.
He further assured that the equipment will be deployed strategically across the country to ensure equitable service delivery, especially in fire-prone and underserved communities.
The Liberia National Fire Service will begin immediate regional deployment of the new fleet, with trained personnel assigned to manage and operate the equipment to full effect.
This development is part of the Boakai Administrationโs ongoing investment in public safety and institutional revitalization, as it works to build a resilient, service-oriented government for the people of Liberia
