NPHIL, Africa CDC Launch Liberia Event-Based Surveillance Guideline
The National Public Health Institute (NPHIL) and Center for Disease Control (CDC) has hosted a workshop to finalize, validate and launch Liberia event-based surveillance (EBS) guidelines.
According to a release, this initiative significantly strengthens Liberia’s public health surveillance system to enhance early detection and rapid response to emerging health threats.
The five-day workshop, which is being held at a local hotel in Monrovia, brings together key stakeholders, including public health experts, health practitioners, international partners, community representatives, security personnel, and the media.
The event, according to the release, will provide a platform for thoroughly reviewing and validating the EBS Guideline, ensuring that it aligns with international best practices and the national health security framework.
The successful finalization and launch of the Liberia EBS Guideline will enhance national disease surveillance, improving Liberia’s ability to detect and respond to public health threats effectively. Additionally, it will foster stronger collaboration among health sector stakeholders and ensure a coordinated approach to public health emergency preparedness.
