President Boakai and Entourage arrive in Canada for Liberia Investment Forum; Address to the UN General Assembly and Visit to Paris planned
President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and a high-level delegation of the Government of Liberia have arrived in Toronto, Canada to attend the Liberia Investment Forum.
The Presidentβs delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Sara Beysolow-Nyanti; Mines and Energy Minister, Hon. Wilmot J. Paye; Information Minister, Hon. Jerolinmek Matthew Piah; Director-General of the Cabinet, Hon. Nathaniel Kwabo and Deputy Public Works Minister, Hon. Prince Tamba. The President is also accompanied by support staff, security and protocol officers.
The Investment Forum is organized by the National Investment Commission, NIC, and the Liberian Business Group, QE24 Group of Companies, which also has operations in Canada.
President Boakai will address the forum on today, Thursday, September 19th, and the Liberian delegation will have the opportunity to showcase Liberia as an attractive destination for investments.
President Boakai and team will depart Canada tomorrow, Friday, September 20, 2024, for the United States, where he will address the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly and launch Liberiaβs 2026 bid for a non-permanent seat of the UN Security Council.
The President and team will, thereafter, head to Paris, the French Republic where they will attend the Conference of French Speaking countries, La Francophonie, where the President is invited as a special guest. This 19th Francophonie Summit runs from Thursday, October 3 to Sunday, October 6, 2024.
While away, the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Hon Sylvester Grigsby will chair the cabinet in consultation with the President.
President Boakai and the team will return to the country on Monday, October 7, 2024.
