MONROVIA, July 31(LINA) – The Chairperson of the National Patriotic Party (NPP), Atty. George Mulbah, has called on the Government of Liberia to use holistic approach in the prosecution of alleged corrupt ex-government officials.
Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in Congo town, Atty. Mulbah stated that while the NPP welcomes the Government of Liberia’s stands to prosecute individuals for corruption, he is equally warning against what he calls “witch-hunt” in the process.
Chairman Mulbah also highlighted that transparent and impartial prosecution processes are imperative as opposed to unfounded allegations against individuals for selfish motives.
"To prosecute those accused of corruption, the Government of Liberia should be holistic. That's to say, if individuals in the past government played a role in corruption, they must also be brought to book," he said.
At the same time, the NPP National Chairman called on members of the Legislative and Executive branches of the Liberian Government to address legal issues on the procurement process for the earthmoving equipment.
The NPP Chairman lauded the Government of Liberia for maintaining the peace and stability of the country for the first six months of governance.
