President Boakai Break Grounds For US$5.5 Million Project At LBS

MONROVIA, Aug 17 (LINA) - The President of the Republic of Liberia Joseph N. Boakai, Sr. has officially broken grounds for a US$5.5 Millon project which will see the construction of a modern Television and Radio Complex at the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS).
"Liberia is indeed on the move and is not going to stop, we are ready to build our country," President Boakai said, adding that Liberia shall never be the same.
Speaking Friday August 17, 2024, at the Groundbreaking Ceremony held at the LBS compound in Paynesville, President Boakai reminded LBS family to ensure that the television and the radio are reachable, and all Liberian should have access to it because the initiative is in line with the national agenda.
"We will ensure that every voice will be heard under my Administration," the Liberian leader assured as he dedicated the Chinese-sponsored project.
He also Praised the leadership and workforce of LBS for the upkeep of the institution.
According to him, LBS is a national radio and television entity which is mandated to serve all Liberians, noting, "we must all put our hands on deck irrespective of which political party you belong".
He further described the project as a transformative project from the Chinese Government to the people of Liberia and when completed the edifice will make a positive impact on the Liberian people most especially the rural counties.
"We are very highly grateful to the Chinese president for this project, and it shows the testament of commitment between Liberia and China, we are looking forward to more of these dividends,” President Boakai said.
The Liberia Leader also said his administration will ensure and uphold freedom of expression and of the press.
