Monrovia, Liberia โ The Ministry of Agriculture, through its Department of Planning and Policy, has convened its First Quarter meeting of the Agriculture Coordination Committee (ACC) in 2026, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening collaboration, improving coordination, and advancing Liberiaโs agriculture sector.
The ACC serves as a key platform that brings together government institutions, private sector actors, development partners, and farmer organizations to address critical challenges, align interventions, and drive collective action.
In his opening remarks, Assistant Minister for Planning, Francis Mulbah, emphasized the ACCโs role in strengthening partnerships and coordination, noting that effective collaboration is essential to achieving food security and driving sector growth.
The meeting reviewed progress across major agricultural value chainsโincluding rice, cassava, vegetables, oil palm, cocoa, poultry and livestock, aquaculture, and rubberโwhile identifying key priorities for the months ahead. Subsector working groups presented updates on achievements, challenges, and planned activities.
Sector Coordination Director Peter D. Gbawoquiya outlined the Ministryโs coordination mandate and introduced a new reporting template to strengthen data collection and support evidence-based decision-making across the sector.
Partners, including FAO, CARI, CDA, NGOs, and farmer representatives, also presented updates, highlighting how their activities align with the Ministryโs efforts to boost agricultural productivity.
The Ministry of Agriculture remains committed to leveraging the ACC as a strategic platform for inclusive dialogue, policy alignment, and sustained sector growth.
