The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC), with Support from UNDP and Funding from the UN Peace building Fund, is Conducting a Three-Day Training for 50 Local Government Officials in Harper, Maryland County

The workshop brings together leaders from Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Maryland, Sinoe, and Grand Kru Counties under the theme “Strengthening Local Government through Integrity, Transparency, and Accountability.”

The training aims to build capacity around ethical leadership, accountability, and transparency in public service delivery key components in the fight against corruption and in improving governance at the local level.

LACC Vice Executive Chairperson, Mr. Ernest R. Hughes, emphasized the significance of the workshop in advancing the Commission’s mission:

“Our purpose remains steadfast to advance the fight against corruption, strengthen local governance, enhance public service delivery, and foster a culture of integrity throughout Liberia.”

Mr. Trokon Bryant, UNDP Project Manager, reaffirmed UNDP’s support and urged participants to seize the opportunity:

“If you put your everything into this training, you will walk away with something meaningful.”

This initiative is part of a broader nationwide effort to educate public officials and empower local leaders to become champions of transparency and good governance across Liberia.
